Şərq Tərəfdaşlığı Proqramı Vətəndaş Cəmiyyəti Forumuna yeni üzvlərin qəbul olunması üçün ərizə qə
buluna başlanıb. Bu barədə məlumat verən Humanitar Tədqiqatlar İctimai Birliyinin sədri, VC Forumunun Azərbaycan üzrə əlaqələndiricisi Əvəz Həsənovun sözlərinə görə, “2009-cu ildə yaradılmış Forumun 8-ci Assambleyasına ərizələrin qəbulu barəsində elan artıq forumun internet səhifəsində yerləşdirilmişdir (http://eap-csf.eu/en/news-events/news/applications-now-open-for-the-8th-eap-csf-annual-assembly/). Forum 2016-ci il noyabr ayında Berlin şəhərində keçiriləcəkdir. Bu ilki toplantıya Azərbaycandan 25 təşkilatın seçiləcəyi nəzərdə tutulur ki, onların əksəriyyətinin xərcləri Avropa Birliyi tərəfindən ödəniləcək və bir neçə təşkilata alternativ olaraq öz hesabına foruma qatılmağa imkan yaradılacaqdır. Forumda iştirak etmək üçün öz fəaliyyətlərində Şərq tərəfdaşlığı proqramının istiqamətlərini əsas tutan QHT və həmkarlar təşkilatları müraciət edə bilərlər”

Annual Assembly 2016
On 28-29 November Brussels will host the EaP CSF Annual Assembly for the first time in 7 years since the meeting that marked the beginning of the Forum’s work. The 8th Annual Assembly will be held under the title “Building a Common Secure and Democratic Future” and will bring together around 200 representatives of CSOs, the EU Institutions and EaP governments for vibrant discussions at over 15 sessions. EU to launch negotiations on a new agreement with Azerbaijan
On 14 November 2016, the Council adopted a mandate for the European Commission and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy to negotiate, on behalf of the EU and its member states, a comprehensive agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan. (more…)

European Parliament official visit to Baku: A new beginning in EU-Azerbaijan relations?
It is the duty of European institutions, especially the European parliament, to reach out to the Azerbaijani people and this can only be done if there is a sustained dialogue with the Azerbaijani government and Azerbaijani institutions.

A delegation from the European parliament this week was in Azerbaijan to participate in a meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Co-operation Committee, a framework for dialogue between the European Parliament and the Parliament of Azerbaijan. Usually such meetings go unnoticed, but given the fact that relations between the EU and Azerbaijan have in recent years been strained, and those between the European Parliament and the Parliament of Azerbaijan nearly broken, the visit and the discussion held were of significant importance. The 13th meeting of the European Union (EU)-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee (PCC) was held in Baku on 20 September. The European Parliament (EP) delegation chaired by Sajjad Karim (ECR, UK) included Heidi Hautala (Greens/EFA, FIN, co-president of EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly), Ramona Manescu (EPP, RO), Alberto Cirio (EPP, IT), Andrejs Mamikins (S&D, LV) and Iveta Grigule (ALDE, LV). Vətəndaş Cəmiyyəti Forumu Azərbaycan Milli Platformasının toplantısı keçirildi
Beynəlxalq Mətbuat Mərkəzində Avropa Birliyi Şərq Tərəfdaşlığı Vətəndaş Cəmiyyəti Forumu, Azərbaycan Milli Platformasının toplantısı keçirilib. Forumun Azərbaycan üzrə əlaqələndiricisi, Humanitar Tədqiqatlar İctimai Birliyinin sədri Əvəz Həsənov məlumat verdi ki, toplantı platforma üzvləri üçün əhəmiyyətli bir gündə keçirilir. Son əfv fərmanından sonra platformanın üzvləri Anar Məmmədli, Rəsul Cəfərov və məhkəmə qərarı ilə İntiqam Əliyevin azadlığa çıxması ilə platforma tam tərkibdə fəaliyyət göstərməyə başladı.
The EU tightens strategic modernization of Azerbaijan
Visits of the two high-ranking European politicians – Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini and the chairman of the PACE Pedro Agramunt in Baku at the junction of February and March took place at difficult times for Azerbaijan when the country faced serious additional challenges, especially with the financial crisis.

Azerbaijani Civil Society Calls for Start of Negotiations on DCFTA with EU and WTO Membership
The Azerbaijani National Platform (NP) considers that the Association Agreement is a unique document on foreign and security policy, law, freedom, economy and culture that underpins a bilateral and deep partnership within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. Moreover, the Association Agreement confirms the possibility of starting negotiations on the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the government of Azerbaijan and the European Union.
Sweden says supports Azerbaijan’s initiative to update legal documents on co-op with EU
Sweden supports Azerbaijan’s initiative to update the package of legal documents on cooperation with the European Union, Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström said on Wednesday.
Wallström made the remarks during a joint press conference with her Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku.
She said that these documents should reflect common interests of the member countries with Azerbaijan. (more…)
